An Update from Heather McDonald, CEO

As summer approaches, I am excited to update you on our progress.

On April 11, LOFT launched the Bradford House redevelopment project, a significant step towards providing much-needed services in York Region and Simcoe County. It was an honour to stand with Bradford House staff and clients, project partners, and Mayor James Leduc as we took the first step toward constructing our new Bradford House.

We are grateful for the progress made so far on this project, made possible with the support of our #BradfordBelievers. Your messages of hope and contributions have been incredibly encouraging, fueling us as we work for our community.

April provided us with opportunities to engage in many community initiatives. We participated in Lumacare’s Spring Wellness Fair, which connected GTA residents with health and wellness organizations. Our staff was thrilled to speak with Mayor Olivia Chow at our booth.

We discussed the importance of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in treating mental health challenges at the Hong Fook Mental Health Association’s Conference, focused on raising awareness about health equity. Finally, we won the First-Place Poster Award at AdvantAge Ontario’s Advancing Senior Care Convention, reaffirming our commitment to supporting seniors and older adults with complex challenges.

Thank you for partnering with us to ensure a dignified life for all. We are excited for what’s to come!
