Jamie grappled with intense challenges from a young age, battling addiction and homelessness.
Jamie’s reliance on substances began as a means to cope with past trauma, escalating as she struggled to find stability. She recalled, “My whole world looked dark.” Forced to leave her family due to her escalating addiction, Jamie experienced a turbulent period.
However, a glimmer of hope emerged as she found a bright ray of light in her life: Ingles House.
LOFT’s Ingles Housing and Support Services offers specialized substance use support and supportive housing for female-identifying youth and young adults, aged 16 to 25. Ingles House helps young women recovering from addiction build life skills, create social connections and succeed at work or school. Through a holistic, evidence-based approach to care, we place the client at the center of their treatment plan, allowing them the authority to personalize their recovery process. By working closely with each client as a partner in care, we empower clients to take control of their recovery, achieve their goals, and lead healthier, happier, and more independent lives.
“Since I moved to Ingles House, my life is getting better and better by the day,” says Jamie. “I’m just so blessed.”
Transitioning to Ingles House marked a turning point, providing a structured environment and a supportive primary case worker, Lilly, who instilled in Jamie a sense of value and purpose. The routine here has given me a feeling of stability,” she says. “I know that there are people counting on me here. My primary (case) worker, Lily, is awesome. She’s rooted for me all the way, giving me a sense that I’m worth it. I never thought I’d live in a place like this, this clean, beautiful house. I’m so grateful.”
Jamie has grown stronger thanks to her steadfast dedication to personal development and the unwavering support she received from LOFT’s Ingles House.
