HOMELESS YOUTH AGED 18 AND UNDER
Beverley Lodge is a high-support group home with on-site staffing 24/7, serving at-risk young men, 18 and under, who are unable to live in their family home. Lodge residents live in a safe, supportive, structured environment where they can acquire the skills they will need to function as responsible, self-reliant members of society.
Young men can become homeless and at–risk as a result of challenges that may include family conflict, emotional or behavioural issues, mental health concerns, learning challenges or substance abuse. At Beverley Lodge each youth receives the support he needs in order to take control of his challenges, develop educational and employment goals, and pursue the vocational or professional training of his choice.
At the Lodge, young men are able to improve life skills, develop skills and values necessary for success at school and in the working world, and assistance in stabilizing lives and family relationships.
Beverley Lodge has been serving young men since it opened in 1954, and has achieved a solid track record assisting at-risk youth in gaining stability and building healthy, productive lives as contributing members of the community.
Beverley Lodge is part of LOFT’s Transitional Age Youth Program serving at-risk youth ages 16 to 26. This means that when clients are ready to leave the Lodge, they have access to community case management and/or youth peer support housing as needed to ensure a successful transition to independence. The Transitional Age Youth Program can also provide access to longer-term support services as needed.
