"My senior years have turned
out to be my superior years. Am I
appreciative? Why yes! I was
homeless between ages 55 and 60."
LOFT Supports for Seniors
LOFT services for seniors help more than 400 vulnerable, at-risk and frail older adults to continue, or regain the ability, to live independently and maintain a sense of community. All seniors, whether in a high support program or not, receive a daily visit from LOFT staff who help them manage the complex challenges they live with including limited financial resources, absence of family support, cultural isolation (for first generation Canadians), poor physical health and mental health and addiction issues.
LOFT is unique in offering programs for seniors who have mental health and addiction issues and either have a history of homelessness or are at-risk for becoming homeless. These seniors are some of the most under-served members of our community. LOFT helps them gain permanent housing, 24-hour access to services, crisis and emergency intervention and personal and social support.
