Serving people with Complex Challenges, including mental illness, addiction and homelessness.
LOFT is a multi-service organization with programs tailored to the needs of individuals with complex challenges that include mental health issues, substance abuse and homelessness or the risk of becoming homeless.
While our values remain consistent, LOFT tailors each program to respond to a different set of needs. There is no cookie cutter approach that will serve the diversity of individuals who are part of the LOFT community.
Our programs are grouped by the age of our clients, recognizing that we have broadly different needs at different stages of our lives.
LOFT Transitional Age Youth Programs serve homeless young people between the ages of 18 and 24. (Beverley Lodge also serves youth as young as 16). LOFT plays a lead role in providing services to youth with Concurrent Disorders, that is, the combination of a mental health issue and a substance abuse issue. These programs aim to help youth leave the street, finish school, find employment and become independent and self-sufficient members of the community.
LOFT Adult Programs serve adults up to 64 years of age offering recovery oriented services that are responsive to individual needs, and housing programs that range from high-support shared homes to supported independent apartments. Every client is supported in his or her individual journey to maximum independence, and services are available for as long as they are needed.
LOFT Seniors Programs serve vulnerable and marginalized older adults and seniors with the goal of enabling clients to live safely and maintain their health in homes of their own. These programs prevent or postpone the need for institutional care, help prevent unnecessary hospitalization and assist those who have been hospitalized to safely make the transition out of the institution back into the community.
