College View Supportive Housing Services

College View Supportive Housing Services provides service to 65 seniors (average age 73) living in a high-rise apartment building at Yonge and College in downtown Toronto. The program serves the needs of many vulnerable and at-risk seniors who require support in coping with declining health and mobility, mental health and addiction issues and acute social isolation. The Personal Support Workers at College View provide a range of services from personal care and light housekeeping to crisis and emergency intervention.

In partnership with the Metro Toronto Housing Corporation, who own the building, LOFT has also taken on the role of operating the dining room for seniors who require these much-needed services. The continued need for on-site meals is critical for many of the building's seniors to enhance their quality of life.

The program serves a diverse ethno-cultural group of seniors, 33% of whom are of Chinese origin. Our services have been adapted to meet these cultural-specific needs through staff members who have Chinese and other cultural backgrounds.
