Mental Health and Justice Initiative
This program provides safe and dignified housing and housing support services for people with serious mental illness who are homeless or potentially homeless, are currently involved in the criminal justice system, and who are likely to live safely in the community with minimal assistance.
Clients live in self-contained units in high and low support housing and supported independent living in the community.
Individuals are supported with a range of mental health, employment, social skills and crisis support services that promote recovery and safe integration into the community.
LOFT is a partner in the Mental Health and Justice Initiative along with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Ontario, Canadian Mental Health Association Metro Toronto Branch, and COTA Health and Houselink Community Homes.
LOFT operates a coordinated access service on behalf of all Mental Health and Justice Initiative partners to ensure rapid, streamlined and timely entry into safe housing.
