Dunn Avenue Supportive Housing Services
Dunn Avenue Supportive Housing Services provides 24-hour supportive housing services for vulnerable seniors living in a public housing apartment complex in Toronto's Parkdale area.
Many of the Dunn Avenue clients are extremely vulnerable or at-risk, having special needs arising from cognitive impairments, mental health and addiction issues, and severe social isolation. The Dunn Avenue Supportive Housing program makes it possible for these seniors to remain in their own homes as they age.
LOFT staff provide essential services including personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, medication supports, escorts to appointments, laundry, caregiver relief, social activities, emotional support and a 24-hour emergency response system.
The Dunn Avenue apartment building, with over 698 tenants, is home to a diversity of cultures and family situations. LOFT Community Services is currently the only community support agency located within the complex.
