Debbie's Story - Street Outreach Services (SOS)

Hi!

My name is Debbie and I’m 17 years old. 

When I first came to SOS I had nowhere else to go.  I had recently come off the streets and couldn’t live at home.  A social worker in a welfare office got me the number, and talked to someone about me. 

Almost immediately two people showed up, and brought me to a safe house.

I got to know the staff at SOS very well. They show what they feel, like street people!

So far they have gotten me enrolled in school and I’m looking for a place to live.  But mainly, they are keeping me off the street.

I have a lot of problems, like a lot of other girls do, but I’ve got one advantage over them, I’ve got SOS on my side.
